Troubleshooting issues when emails aren’t received or the website is blocked

Some organizations use strict firewalls or email filters that can block Board notifications, invitations, or access to the site itself. These restrictions are managed by your company’s IT team — our Support team can’t override them.

This article explains how to identify if corporate restrictions are the cause, and what you or your IT team can do to fix it.

1. Emails not being received

Corporate email filters sometimes block or quarantine automated messages. This can affect invitations, meeting notifications, or password reset emails from Board.

What to do:

Ask your IT department to allow messages from the following domains:

If you’re using a personal email address (e.g. Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo):

  • Check your Spam or Junk folder.

  • Mark any Board emails as “Not spam.”

  • Add @idealsboard.com to your safe senders list.

If you still don’t receive an invitation, contact your meeting administrator and ask them to resend it.

2. Access to the Board website

If you can’t open Board or see messages such as “403 Forbidden” or “This site can’t be reached,” your company firewall may be blocking access.

What to do:

Ask your IT team to allow idealsboard.com

If possible, try:

  • Accessing Board on a personal device outside your corporate network.

  • Connecting via a different network (e.g. mobile hotspot, home Wi-Fi).

  • Temporarily disabling your VPN or proxy (if permitted by your company).

If the platform loads successfully on another network, the issue is almost certainly caused by corporate firewall restrictions.

3. Browser checks

Sometimes, issues that look like network restrictions are caused by the browser itself.

Try the following:

  • Update your browser to the latest version.

  • Use a supported browser: Google Chrome (recommended), Microsoft Edge, or Safari.

  • Open Board in a private/incognito window.

  • Temporarily disable browser extensions.

4. Still having trouble?

If none of the above steps work:

  • Ask your IT team to confirm that Board URLs and email domains have been allowlisted.

  • Try logging in from a personal device on a non-corporate network to confirm whether it’s a firewall issue.

If the issue persists, chat to Fin or contact Support for further assistance.
